What FOCUS 1.5 adds for AI

Which model

Recommended SKU Price Details properties ModelDeveloper, ModelFamily, ModelId, ModelVersion. AI spend becomes comparable across providers.

Which kind of token

TokenDirection (Input / Output) and TokenCacheAction (Uncached / Read / Write / Other). Reasoning tokens metered separately count as Output.

Who drove the spend

New conditional columns PrincipalId, CredentialId and RequesterDetails: the user or service account, and the API key or session, behind a charge.

Credits as a currency

Provider credits can be recorded as a consumption currency, alongside the billed cost in national currency.

Price catalog (final review)

A SKU Price dataset with list and negotiated prices, tiers and dates, to price a workload before it runs.

Not in 1.5

Recommendation dataset, region scope for prices, and AI requests such as modality, batch/priority tiers, provisioned throughput and context-cache storage fees.

Why gateways matter here: the FOCUS 1.5 scope says the new principal and credential columns do not identify who benefits from a charge when "a shared workload, a gateway, or an embedded assistant" acts for people who never appear in billing data. A gateway that tags requests by team, user and key is where that attribution can live today. Columns added in 1.5 are additive; data that conforms to 1.4 stays valid.
